it was all due to the intense training and my unfalthering spirit

My narutarded friend, Syafiq, of Read If You're Dumb Enough, is a narutard. What is a narutard you all ask? Well, according to UrbanDictionary.com..

Narutard is a derogatory term applied to otaku fans of the anime title Naruto. It is a word play on the combination of naruto and retard. This term surfaced during early 2004 at the beginning of the anime's popularity in America and characterizes the behavior of Naruto fans as being so blindly devoted to the series (with an almost religious cult-like fervor) that they act incredibly stupid and can be confused with retarded (er, mentally challenged) persons.

This is mostly seen on internet forums and chat services such as IRC, where the Naruto series is a constant source of debate. Many narutards dress as their favorite character during conventions or festivals to display their metal head bands, which are worn by characters in the series as a sign of gang affiliation. One characteristic of a narutard is that they will wear just a head band over their street clothes and tell everyone that they are cosplaying. Serious cosplayers who wear costumes that cost hundreds of dollars in raw materials and took weeks to construct generally consider narutards to be anywhere from merely ignorant to downright insulting.

With the license acquisition of Naruto in early 2005 by ShoPro Entertainment, many narutards spawned numerous forum discussions debating the impact of the deal, from the legality of trafficking amateur subtitled copies of the title (something which should be pretty obvious, especially once American distribution rights had been acquired) to a grass-roots petition begging Cartoon Network and ShoPro / Viz to retain the full integrity of the anime during its adaptation into English. However, as with many Japanese series adapted into English, there are legal and other issues which often make it difficult if not impossible to produce a rendition faithful enough to appease purists.

Most narutards are, unsurprisingly, also purists when it comes to adapting Naruto into English. Allegedly, a few narutards boasted of their intention to engage in physical vandalism, DDoS, and other assaults toward ShoPro and Cartoon Network. Other alleged proposals included a petition and hunger strike camping out in front of these companies' offices
"naruto is the best anime in the world"
"naruto rocks"

- Narutard, UrbanDictionary.com

Commonly used in reference to a Naruto fanboy, who typically joins a channel that fansubs said anime to ask stupid questions.

Is Naruto 1999 out yet?!?!
@find Naruto 1999
Can someone send me naruto 1999?
which bot has naruto 1999?
When does naruto GT come out?

Anyways, here's proof that he's a narutard. =)

Haha. Naw! He doesn't look like that in person, okay? He's not that much of a narutard. He just edited one of his pictures after recently dicovering the joys of PhotoShop and seeing how PhotoShop is able to let him express the Narutard within. See?

Yeah, that was his original picture. So I sent him one of mine to mess around with. Heck, you know. Kekeke.

That's the picture I sent him. Me and my fat head. Hah!

And so, first step, is to make me look like a fat headed freak with red eyes.

And then it was time for me to get my cloak. Muahaha!

Then it was time to style it up with some fiery background with me looking oh-so-cool and not bothered by the skin melting inferno at the back.

Tadah! So how? Nice or not? Haha. Anyways, after that, Syafiq wanted to try us being a double-team. So... he tried this out at first.

But it looked kinda weird. So he changed it to this.

Hah! Where I am the bigger, more lihai person, superhero that I'm in the foreground and he's the weak, scared, wimpy sidekick that he has to go in the background. Lol. Just kidding.

Anyways, the whole point of posting this up was to get comments. So please? We just wanna know where or what aspects could be improved on. I know that we gotta get better models, so other than that... Hehe. Thanks!

geckos, closets, bfs, violins, cures, blogs

Wow. How long has it been since I last blogged? Awww.. poor bloggie.. mommy's here now. *muack muacks* (Eww) Hahaha! Okay. That was seriously gross.

  • I gotta start being nicer to cicaks (geckos).
  • I gotta clean up my closet SOON!!
  • I need a boyfriend. Any takers? (Just kidding)
  • I really should start practising my violin.
  • I have to find a cure for laziness. (And stupidity too, but since I'm stupid, it's unlikely I'll find those cures.)
  • I still haven't blogged about the free2be concert, the Nights of Fire concert, and the LEO Anniversary Dinner. I gotta try get them done. Pfft.
Urgh. I want to blog. But I'm lazy to blog. So all I can come up is this. Pathetic.

sugar, we're going down

Fall Out Boy - Sugar, We're Going Down

Am I more than you bargained for yet
I've been dying to tell you anything you want to hear
Cause that's just who I am this week
Lie in the grass, next to the mausoleum
I'm just a notch in your bedpost
But you're just a line in a song
(A notch in your bedpost, but you're just a line in a song)

Drop a heart, break a name
We're always sleeping in, and sleeping for the wrong team

We're going down, down in an earlier round
And Sugar, we're going down swinging
I'll be your number one with a bullet
A loaded god complex, cock it and pull it

We're going down, down in an earlier round
And Sugar, we're going down swinging
I'll be your number one with a bullet
A loaded god complex, cock it and pull it

Is this more than you bargained for yet
Oh don't mind me I'm watching you two from the closet
Wishing to be the friction in your jeans
Isn't it messed up how I'm just dying to be him
I'm just a notch in your bedpost
But you're just a line in a song
(Notch in your bedpost, but you're just a line in a song)

Drop a heart, break a name
We're always sleeping in, and sleeping for the wrong team

We're going down, down in an earlier round
And Sugar, we're going down swinging
I'll be your number one with a bullet
A loaded god complex, cock it and pull it

Down, down in an earlier round
And Sugar, we're going down swinging
I'll be your number one with a bullet
A loaded god complex, cock it and pull it

We're going down, down in an earlier round
And Sugar, we're going down swinging
I'll be your number one with a bullet
A loaded god complex, cock it and pull it

We're going down, down (down, down
Down, down (down, down)
We're going down, down (down, down)
A loaded god complex, cock it and pull it

We're going down, down in an earlier round
And Sugar, we're going down swinging
I'll be your number one with a bullet
A loaded god complex, cock it and pull it

walking contradiction

I do believe myself to be a walking contradiction. Or at least, I'm not the person I look like I am. If that makes any sense to any of you. Hah!

Why am I suddenly writing about this? Cos I got writer's block. I really didn't know what to write for my next post. So why this? Well, yesterday, met this guy, Mark, who I think is Bernard's (Hehehe.. remember Bernard, Wani?? Okay, actually his real name is Lucas. Bleh. We just named him Bernard before we actually found out his real name. Pandai kan, we all?) older brother.

Well, we were all just messing about in the cafeteria together with Iqbal and Tiang. Just killing time. Well, towards the end of our meeting, since Mark had to go, I started snapping pictures of him using Iqbal's camera. Well, cos that's just the person I am. I love taking pictures. Never ever lend me your camera or else I'm gonna take snapping amazing (ahem, but no, seriously. hah!!) pictures with your digicam be it be some lousy camera or not. Hahaha! Mintak puji. Anyways, just as he was leaving he was like, "You're in media, aren't you." and I was like, *shaking head profusely*. So then he was like, "So what are you doing then?" and I said, "Engineering." then he goes, "Hahahaha!! Really?? You don't look like an engineering student!" Urgh. So mean. Btw, don't I sound like such an airheaded cheerleader type person with all the like like like's I keep saying? Patutlah he thinks I'm in media. Plus, I think it was my mistake of wearing a pink shirt. It seems that the girls in media has some sort of obsession with the colour. It's so freaky. Anyway, it was just a once in a lifetime sort of thing. I'm not one of those girls obsessed with the colour pink. Or maybe it's cos of all the gorgeous pics of him I took and showed him. Ahah.

Or should I be honoured? Cos media students are such a pretty bunch or people. Haha. Yeah, you guys are pretty/gorgeous/handsome/beautiful and you guys know it. And creative and artistic fellows.

I mean no offense to the media students, of course. It just seems to the rest of us that you guys don't get as much work or assignments to do as the rest of us and that you guys are taking the easy way out. But I know how much assignments you guys get. And how much readings you people have to do. Man! *shakes head* But it's still unfair that you guys don't really get exams the way the rest of us do. Hmph! *stamps foot*

Anyways, I realise I look so much like I'm still a little girl.. =( and that I look somewhat innocent. Or just like someone who looks like she listens to pop only. Uh.. ew? Haha. I'm a universal listener, kay. Been told countless times that I look like that. Just the other day, my music teacher even thought I was younger than my younger brother. Boo!!! =( Sakit hati, eh.

And I'm not ang mo, okay? Not that I have something against white people. Cos I don't. Haha. Just listen to the way I talk then you'll know I'm not ang mo. Wait. Okay. Erm. That's not right. Fine. I have a bloody english accent kinda thing. Blueehhh. Erm. Hmm. Okay, maybe I brought that upon myself. It's weird though. Cos people say that I look ang mo (hmph), and that my little brother by 2 years looks malay (shrugs), and that my little sister by 12 years looks pure chinese. Argh. How can like that? Eheh.

This is going a little bit off topic, but it's funny how little things have such a huge affect on your day, on your mood. Mark was asking me something and as I was thinking of how to answer him, when he just went "Btw, you got really pretty eyes." and I was just suprised. But grin! Then the question was forgotten. Then we all just started talking about how random people can be at times. Iqbal then started telling us about his friend who went off topic while they were talking about some serious matters by saying, "I know this is a little off topic. But I know these two lesbian frogs......." then we all just started laughing like hell. Lesbian frogs?! The rest of us were just, "Okay. We do not want to know how he knows lesbian frogs. Hahahah!!" We were probably the loudest table there. Until Mr. Johannes, one of our lecturers in Curtin, who was sitting at the table just next to us busy reading his book, turned around and gave us a thumbs up. Like, eh? But hahaha anyway!

Okay. Thanks for reading another one of my useless posts! ;)

could she be my redeemer?

Come save me and say that you'll be my redeemer..

So, what do you think? Drew it just the other day. On the 15th of September to be exact. Why? Cos of the shitty job I did of the storyboard I did for Wani's cousin, Rozi. Sorry Rozi.

Was of course, unsatisfied by the work I did for Rozi. So yeah, I just had to draw something to redeem myself. Heheh. What to do? I'm just a perfectionist. But only when I feel passionate about something. Cos if not, I'm a lazy lazy lazy lazy girl. *grin* I'm sure a lot of people know that. Heheh.

Just tell me what you think. But you don't have to tell me that you think it's sucky, cos I already know it is. You don't have to tell me that she's got a bloody retarded face, cos I know she does. You don't have to tell me that the shading's all off, cos I know it is. And don't tell me that she's got a body that is out of proportion, cos I know it is too. Don't tell me that her hair is all wrong and could be improved, cos I know that already.

Nah, just kidding. Just say what you want. But I warn you, I'm very sensitive. Especially about things I am passionate about. So what you say may result in me being a sobbing mess and then you'll hear about a suicide in the papers the next day. So choose your words wisely. =)

Ok ok. Just kidding. Just hit me.

curtin carnival 2005 - 9/11

September 11th. Curtin Carnival day. This year's theme for the carnival was "Celebrate U!". It was chosen to mark the 3rd Anniversary of Curtin Sarawak's campus which was officially launched in Sept 2002. It is also to celebrate everyone who is a part of Curtin University.

Coupons were sold for RM10 each. Everyone was invited to participate be it staff, students, or members of the public. There was also a lucky draw and the grand prize was an Apple iPod Mini worth RM938! Hahaha. You can bet that everyone was eyeing that thing.

What went on? Well, there was the usual food stalls, game stalls, etc that were set up by the various clubs and societies in Curtin University to help them raise funds for their own organisations. There was also several stalls that were manned by the moral studies students especially to help raise funds which would then be donated to the Sunflower Centre, the Methodist Children Home as well as the Miri Blind Association.

Also, there were workshops like the Wireless LAN Workshop which was just to help introduce everyone to wireless LAN as well as how to set up a simple wireless LAN network in your home. ;) There was also the Effective Googling Workshop where people can learn how to use the Google Search Engine more effectively.

There was also some Karaoke Singing which didn't go very well. Haha. But that didn't matter. The most happening event though was the Curtin Music Fest which was organised by the Curtin Music Society.

Anyways, first off, the opening ceremony. It was just like any other opening ceremony. It started at 9am with the traditional dancers and then there were the speeches given by Benet Leong, our Student Council president, and then another speech from Professor Ruth Marquis, the Dean of Curtin Sarawak. After that was the Hey Mama dance. Then there was the official launching of the carnival. =)

Some of our traditional dancers. Gorgeous, no?

The traditional dance.

Hey Mama!

The official launching of the carnival by our dean, and our student council president.

After that, our boys danced the Janet Jackson Song with the traditional dancers. A mix of modern and ethnic dance. You know what, I actually love the traditional dance. Haha! Seriously. Although it may be so common. But before this, I've never been able to appreciate the dance properly. Cos watching them practice and all that, I managed to see how it's such an odd mixture of both aggresiveness and grace.

The Janet Jackson Boys.

The girls dancing the ethnic bit.

After that, there was a performance from one of Curtin's bands, Promise Ruin, who performed Pretty Woman. Hehehe. Which they did very very well. And that guy singing, he's one of the lecturers for Engineering Mathematics and his voice is very very very good. It seems so effortless for him to sing. Haha. And his name is Rueben. Hmmm... I have a feeling that he's actually my friend's older bro who used to study in Curtin before. And maybe still. So what's he doing playing lecturer, eh? Anyways, that performance was just one of more to come.. after all, they had to save their stuff for the Curtin Music Fest later, no? Then after Promise Ruin were done with their song, the Curtin Dance Club performed a little modern dance for us. And you know when they say modern it means some seriously sexy sh*t. Hahahahaha. At least it got all the guys drooling.

Promise Ruin doing "Pretty Woman"

The modern dance from the Curtin Dance Club.

So after that, went about the place.. jalan², checking out the stalls. Curtin students are seriously lika a bunch of hagglers. Most of the stalls I passed had people going like, "Come come! Buy some stuff here. Support us lahhhh!!" and stuff like that. Hehe. Then there are the ones that actually know me, "Ah! Kim!! Come come! Support us! Buy some stuff! C'mon lah! It's good you know?! Help raise funds for charity mah!!! C'mon! 30 ringgit ONLY!!" Hahaha. Okay, that was me trying to be Joel who was trying to get me to buy some baskets which the Miri Blind Association had made. But I couldn't help lah.. I didn't have that much money with me. Then there were stalls where when I walked by, they would shout, "KIMBERLEY!!!!" and when I turned around to glare at them, they would look away innocently, like, look up at the ceiling lah, go pretend to look at the clouds and point at the sky lahhhh... and then when I would turn back around to go off again, they would start, "KIMBERLEYYYYYYYYY!!!!" Alamak. So embarrasing eh. Haha. But still, not as embarrasing as me dancing the Hey Mama? :P

Bought some food just for the sake of using my coupons. Haven't had any appetite for the past few days. So.. yeah.. just bought some food and shared them with Izuan. Haha. Went around the stalls several times. Why? Because everytime I would've made one round, someone would ask me to accompany them. So yeah, I did. Heheh. Good exercise bah, no? But then by the end of it, my legs were oh-so-tired and aching.

Oh yeah.. someone also dedicated some chocolate to me. Lol. So I had to go pick them up from the CSS (Catholic Students Society) booth. Actually, they sent me an sms, saying that someone has sent me a dedication and to go pick it up from their booth at the cafeteria on Sunday. Then on Sunday, uh-oh.. *looks around at all the booths* Which booth???? Found it in the end. Wow. Got Hersley and Ferero Roche chocolate. Yummy. Who is that someone? Haha! Thanks, Eddy! Silly boy. He only just sent me those chocolates so that I would unblock him in MSN. Sorry, Eddy, it's just that you were annoying me too much. So I had no choice. Hahaha. And sorry people, nothing romantic, ya. Hahaha.

Me and my little bag of chocolates. Sempat gik posing for Mimin's camera while just walking by. Hahaha.

Anyways, 12pm!! Time for the Curtin Music Fest. Hahaha. (I laugh too much, I know) Time for me to MC along with Wisdom a.k.a. Wizzy. Oh, I'm glad I got him to be my partner for the MC'ing. Or else I would've bombed. You can ask anyone how badly I did. =( Anyways, there would be 5 bands playing. Each playing at least 5 songs each. Hehehe. The bands that were there were Innumerable Judgement, Ravera Hill, Last Minute to Climax, 7th Day Tragedy, and Promise Ruin. No doubt that all their names are all so very keng eh but we'll see if they manage to live up to their name, yea?

The MCs for the Music Fest - Wizzy Gee and Me. Hehehe.

And so started the Curtin Music Fest. I'm gonna try write out all the songs each band performed. But my memory isn't too good. So just bear with me if I missed out on some or get them mixed up.

--------------------

Innumerable Judgement

Innumerable Judgement

Innumerable Judgement feat. Desmond

Songs performed:
  • Linkin Park - In The End (w/ Desmond)
  • Hoobastank - The Reason
  • Green Day - Wake Me Up When September Ends
  • Eric Clapton - Wonderful Tonight (feat. Desmond)
With Don and Gary on guitars, Gaston on bass guitar, Kenneth a.k.a. JJ on the drums, and Desmond and Eric (also on keyboards) on vocals, there was no chance of them going wrong. And yes, they did simply amazing! They set the bar way up high, challenging the other bands to try beat them. Muahaha.

---------

Ravera Hill

Ravera Hill

Songs performed:
  • Yellowcard - Only One
  • Hoobastank - The Reason
  • Peter Pan - Mungkin Nanti
Seriously, no comment.

----------

Last Minute To Climax

Last Minute To Climax

Songs performed:
  • My Chemical Romance - Helena
  • Senses Fail - (Damn, I can't remember)
  • Green Day - Hitchin' A Ride
They were alright-lah! Lead singer's voice couldn't be heard.. but it seemed that the bassist had a better voice. *shrugs*

---------

7th Day Tragedy

7th Day Tragedy

Allan Trez? Is he that Allan? I was looking at him a lot during their performance. Not because I liked him or anything, just that he frustrated me so. Just cos I couldn't figure out who he was! Mimin lah.. didn't remind me he was one of our old friends. Duh.

Songs performed:
  • Justin Timberlake - Cry Me A River
  • Green Day - Redundant
  • Under Pressure
  • Weezer - Beverly Hills
  • Jimmy Eat World - Authority Song
Apparantly one of the top 5 bands in Miri. Was one of the top 5 during the battle of the bands. Which meant that probably not a lot of bands showed up cos uh.. not that they sucked exactly.. just that, they didn't come off as being one of the top 5. Oh well. What a let down.

----------

Promise Ruin

Promise Ruin

Songs performed:
  • The Beatles - She Loves You
  • Green Day - When I Come Around
Thank gawd for them! Really. Hahaha. They made the whole music fest look like a wonderfully deliciously sandwich with bad filling. Very deceiving. Cos to me, that was what it was. It started off with a great big bang thanks to Innumerable Judgement and then there were the bad fillings - Ravera Hill, Last Minute To Climax, 7th Day Tragedy - but luckily Promise Ruin was there to redeem the whole event. Rueben, f a n t a s t i c voice! Made every note seem so effortless. Ernest, Felix, and Don (also in Innumerable Judgement) on guitars, damn! And uh.. (I'll put his name in later once I remember it. I can never remember this name!! Probably cos I'm too used to calling him Monkey Boy back in Secondary School. Teehee.) Percival a.k.a. CBel on drums!

--------------------

Please keep in mind that I do not remember all the songs performed. So I left them out. And there may be some that I mixed up with the other bands. Hee! It's okay.

And that was it for the Curtin Music Fest. 2 hours filled with screaming guitars, crashing cymbals, more screaming singers. Felt very deaf after that.

Pretty soon, it was 3pm! Time for the lucky draw. The moment everyone was waiting for. But before all that, we all had to perform our dances again. On Abel's request. Haha. Scary man! Cos you could see one everyone's faces.. how much they wished we would get it over with and get on with the lucky draw. I swear, I was so scared they were gonna start rioting and start stampeding or something. *sobs*

Luckily though, they didn't. Haha. They gave away three Curtin Carnival t-shirts, four huge hampers, and last but not least, one iPod mini. Some guy won it. Not me. Too bad for me. Heheheh.

No hard feelings. None from me anyway. I got my Shuffle and that's good enough. Hehe.

Uh.. end.

Oh ya, almost forgot. Much thanks to Mimin for the pics. Hehehe!

Now... the end. ;)

stranger

You know, I'm no one special. I don't write spectacular entries in my blog. I'm not funny. I'm not witty. I'm not sarcastic. I'm not bitchy. I'm not sexy.

So imagine my suprise when a stranger sent me a message saying how much he loved my blog. It's funny really. Cos I still don't see what's so wonderful about it. Hehe.

But yeah, I'm glad someone loves what I do. At least I know I don't have to blog for the satisfaction of others. Like some bloggers do. But you know, that's their choice. I'm just glad that at least, I am able to write for myself and yet have others enjoy my writings.

Haha! He even calls my blog "The Bible". Ya ya. Better not anymore, k? :P That's too much already. Too much to live up to. Haha.

You can read his entry on my blog here. When I found out that he had written about me as well on his blog, I was like, all giddy and giggly and high like a silly little girl. Do silly little girls get high? Anyways...

Do check his blog out too. Personally, I think his entries are better than mine. He's more articulate than I am which is what I wish I could be. But even though his entries are better than mine are, it does not mean you should stop coming here, k?

Hehe.

You're welcome, Stranger.

i need a fix in those heroin eyes

Currently addicted to:

Anberlin - Dance, Dance, Christa Päffgen

She's got the time
Says she got time on her side
Running the room
Commanding the late boys eyes
She runs around, knows all the streets by name
So mysterious, shadows meet James Dean
She's intoxicating, soon your favorite drink

Your black dress in disarray
Only dance floor prayers can save you
Temperatures rise and I start to move
But it's you that's coursing through my veins

Say she's got hope
Took shelter to the Hollywood list, taking control
Wanted my heart but I gave her my soul
She's like a Paige Davis with a Monroe kiss
Disappeared today, left no trace
But someday I'll know your name

Your black dress in disarray
Only dance floor prayers can save you
But it's you that's coursing through my veins

Don't need no drugs, you're my chemical
Now I'm dependent, swear I'm clinical
Addicted to those glances, taking chances tonight
I need a fix in those heroin eyes
Don't need no drugs, you're my chemical
Now I'm dependent, no not cynical
Addicted to those glances, taking chances tonight
I need a fix in those heroin eyes

She's no saint, She's no saint, She's no saint
But she'll take you to your knees
Try her boy, but she'll still do what she please
Do you beleive in science? She prefers chemistry
She wanted my love but I gave her the rest of me

Don't need no drugs, you're my chemical
Now I'm dependent, swear I'm clinical
Addicted to those glances, taking chances tonight
I need a fix in those heroin eyes
Don't need no drugs, you're my chemical
Now I'm dependent, no not cynical
Addicted to those glances, taking chances tonight
I need a fix in those heroin eyes

You'll adore me before the night is over
You'll adore me before the night is over

If London's calling don't you dare pick up the phone
Only you entwined
could make this orphan feel at home
Lips that need no introduction, but now waiting for your call
if picture's worth a thousand words
Then your touch is worth them all, worth them all

Don't need no drugs, you're my chemical
Now I'm dependent, swear I'm clinical
Addicted to those glances, taking chances tonight
I need a fix in those heroin eyes
Don't need no drugs, you're my chemical
Now I'm dependent, no not cynical
Addicted to those glances, taking chances tonight
I need a fix in those heroin eyes

Your my chemical
Swear I'm clinical
I need a fix in those heroin eyes
Your my chemical
No not cynical
I need a fix in those heroin eyes

Don't leave us in the dark

Download the song now. You should if you love my style. Or if you're curious. Or if the lyrics appeal to you. But above all other reasons, you should download it if you love me. *sad, poor, adorable, puppy dog eyes* Yeah, so what are you waiting for? :P

--------------------

Okay, people. Here's the zipped version courtesy of YouSendIt.com. Hehe. Mind you though, it would only be available for 7 days after which the link expires. Also, limited downloads apply, so after 20/25 downloads, the link would also expire. Hehe. Good luck.

redeemer

This post is just to redeem myself from the last seriously embarrasing post. Hah.

Nah. I'm just bored. Just got home from sending everyone home after dance practice at campus. There's gonna be this Curtin Carnival thing that would be going on this coming Sunday. So yeah, we're all practising a modern dance, Hey Mama. Lol. "Hey mama! This that shit that makes you groove mama! Get on the floor and move your booty mama! We the blast mastas, blastin' up the jamma, So shake your bum bumma, c'mon now, mama!" Hahaha. Not the first time we'd be performing that dance though. Cos we already had to do it during the foundation o-week which I did/have/will not blog about. Hopefully, I'll do better. Heheh.

I would also be MCing during the carnival. What's going on? Just the usual.. performances, live bands, food stalls, exhibitions, workshops, games, etc. I think. Heheh.

Sigh.

Wanted to write more. But something came up.. I doubt I really managed to redeem myself. But oh well.

Here, have a laugh at this instead.

Oh my gawd. What a coincidence. Just when I posted this picture in my blog, the song Hit Me Baby One More Time came on on my winamp. No, I don't listen to Britney Spears, okay?? This one is a cover version from Weezer. Lol. Such a laugh riot. Can you imagine? Weezer singing Britney Spears? They sound so retarded.

still naive

I guess I'm just too naive. Thinking that people would ever stop speaking badly of one another when their backs are turned. Maybe I'm being silly thinking that people could actually get along. Who here knows the phrase "do onto others as you would like them onto you"? I have no idea how many other people out there actually believe in that and actually live by it. But I know I do.

I must be some silly hippie or flower/peace child trapped in the wrong century. Who here believes that people are still actually any good. No one. Not anymore.

It caused me so much pain to think that people nowadays are like this. Why? A friend believes that it is because I am one who has always wanted to believe the best in people and hates to think that everyone has an ugly side. Sigh. Kinda true though. I guess I need to grow up and start thinking badly about others? Does growing up actually involve hating and thinking badly of others?

Is there really anything wrong in wanting to believe the best in people though? Other than the hurt you receive from trying to defend this person from others.

The people who complain/bad mouth, I guess you don't know that when you do that, there is also another person who is doing exactly the same to you. And it hurts to know that no matter what, I would've defended you as best I can but you would also be doing the same.. bad mouthing others.. whom I would also defend. One vicious cycle right there. I'm weary. Tired. Sick. Stop. Please.

Would you have believed it if I told you that when someone was mistreating you without you even knowing about it, that I cried? For you? Because I wanted so much for everyone to be able to get along. Because I didn't feel like it was right for someone to be speaking badly of another. Because I know that it isn't true of what others were saying of you. Who you are.. you are my friend.

And because you are my friend, I fight for you.

And at least someone knows for sure that I do, cry.

The past few weeks of having to defend others leaves me wondering, if I'm in some way, hated too? I'm sure I am anyway. No one is ever free from hate. I just wonder who would hate me.. and why.

Oh well.

Thank you for reading my very emo post. Sorry for it being so lame. Oh yeah, guess what. Kenny Sia is also going through the same thing. Sort of. The defending part anyway. Except that he doesn't get as emotional and doesn't cry. :P Damnit. I'm so lame. Girls are too emotional. Really.

hate to hate

Been feeling oh so lethargic and worn out today. I'm getting sick. No, not in that physical sense of falling sick with the flu or what not.

I'm getting sick of people. Seriously. I can't take it anymore. Why must you all come to me and tell me about the people you hate? About the people you dislike? I do not like listening to these kinda things. Well, I used to be a good friend and just listen. But honestly, I don't want to hear anymore.

Why must people hate? Why? Is there any good in it? I don't think so. Don't come to me and tell me that you hate someone just because of one lame incident. And just because of your one bad experience, you choose to look at that someone in a whole different light.

Look beyond that. Please. You are all adults. Grow up. Don't you think there could be a reason as to why someone acts the way they do? Why they treated you the way they did? Do you know? Do you really know? Maybe someone is just having a bad day. Or maybe that someone is going through something terrible. Who knows.. be compasionate. No one ever really wants to make enemies.

I'm tired of defending everyone. It's breaking me inside. Why can't we all just get along? Maybe you all don't know how strongly I feel about this.. but I'm crying as I write this. Hard to admit. But at least then you all know how much I hate this.

I hate to hate. But I'm hating this. But I hold no grudges against anyone. None.

If I ask you, "How well do you know this person?" and you can tell me that you know this person very well, yet you still hate him. Then, fine. I guess it's just not written in the stars then that you were both meant to get along. But if you tell me that you guess you don't know this person as much as you should, then I will not support you in your quest of hate.

So this is what I suggest. Try getting to know whoever it is you hate better. You may be suprised. Pleasantly suprised.

Do not dislike a person just because they are different from you. Appreciate the fact that you live in a world that is not only black and white but is filled with all sorts of wonderful colours which all makes life so worthwhile. If you did not undestand that, the colours refer to people and their different personalities, race, religion, nationalities. And who knows.. you may learn something.

Take for example, the picture I have included in this entry. Everyone has been telling me that it's scary and that they do not like it. People just aren't used to it. But maybe it is. But not from my point of view. I like this picture. Not because everyone else doesn't. But because it's different. It's not a bad thing to be different.

Please, don't be so closed minded. Regardless of what you think, close minded people aren't people who aren't the same as others. Meaning, if you don't follow what I do, example, taking drugs and what not, and you follow me, that I consider you an open minded person. And that if you don't, you are a closed minded person. No. A closed minded person is just someone who is unwilling to listen to reason and isn't open to ideas, suggestions, be it good or bad.

An open minded person is one who is able to listen, observe, and make their own choices about what they want in life. Even if they had a friend who was taking drugs. An open minded person needn't necessarily be someone who isn't able to make up their minds, who is incapable of doing what's right and thinking for themselves.

I realise that I just contrdicted myself by saying that I do not want to listen to anyone else who is about to complain to me about someone else that they know. It's not that at all. It's the fact that I'm tired of people thinking that they have every right to hate someone they do not know. And when I suggest to them that they get to know this person better, they have the immediate assumption that nothing good would come out of it. In other words, being closed minded.

You do not have to listen to what other people say about a person. You do not have to dislike a person just because your friends dislikes them. What are you so afraid of? That your friends may not like you anymore just because once you have gotten to know that person better, it turns out that they're alright and that your friends may have been wrong about the person?

I beg to differ, if your friends are truly your friends, they won't do something like that. They won't hate you too just for associating with people they dislike. But if they do, you got another thing to think about.. are they really your friends?

Make love, not war.

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today

Imagine there's no countries,
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You...you may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You...you may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
And the world will live as one

cloning experiment

When I was born, some doctors took samples of my DNA without the knowledge of me and my family. 12 years later, something was left on our doorstep.

run for charity 2 (14th August 2005)

The Run For Charity is an annual Jogathon which is organised by Dynasty Hotel as well as the Curtin Volunteers! which aims to raise funds for charity. There is the usual card collections stuff. Uh, yeah.

Okay, anyways, the Run For Charity was supposed to take place on 14th August 2005 at 6am!! Foooohhh!! But we had to be up and have everything ready by 5am! Man. But since the CV! (Curtin Volunteers!) would be helping out with the event, Dynasty Hotel had so nicely provided us with rooms to stay overnight. But they so nicely provided us with four rooms only. Heheh. And there were about... *counts* 26 of us helping out. -_-" Dang!

My mom didn't want to let me stay overnight at first. But after I said, "Well, I just thought it would be better so that I won't have to drive all the way down there so early in the morning." and then there was that pause and then mom said, "Okay, fine. You can go." Heheheh. Oh yes, I also got my brother, Aaron, to help me out so I invited him to stay overnight there with the rest of us. I guess that may be another reason why my mom was fine with me staying over. Cos then my bro would be able to keep an eye on me so that I won't get up to any trouble. Btw, my bro is younger than me. Urgh! And my mom trusts him to keep me out of trouble?? Hahaha!

I'm such a good gal anyways! I could've gone out clubbing, drinking, and what not that night but I decided to stay back at the hotel like a good little trooper and just watch movies on tv. Haha! Cos Gen, Corey, Abel, etc were like, trying to drag me out to go clubbing together with them. But I didn't wanna go. Malaslah. Plus, it's not my kinda scene anyways. Plus plus, I'm waiting for someone who said that that person would bring me out for my first clubbing experience. Lol.

Didn't sleep much that night. When I finally fell asleep while watching Hellboy, my friends woke me up again cos it was nearing the ending. Then when the movie was over, I couldn't get back to sleep!! *sobs* Anyways, did finally manage to get to sleep after awhile. Woke up at 3.30 am! Cos didn't want to have to rebut for the shower. Plus, my friends all got up at like, 3am and they were making a lot of noise. -_-" I'm actually fine with waking up early. And pretty soon, all of us were being all hyper and shit. Damn.

Early that morning. Taken at 5.07am.
People included in the picture are Augustine, Ian, Aaron, me, Roger, and Iqbal.

Then we all went downstairs to the lobby where we were supposed to meet up with everyone. Oh yes, I forgot to mention the reason why I pulled Aaron into helping me out. The reason was because we planned to have body painting as one of the activities there to entertain the kids (if any showed up) whilst the parent(s) were busy with the run. Before that though, we managed to brand some of our own people there with the CV! logo.

Branding people. Muahaha.

My job was to handle one of the checkpoints. My checkpoint was the first one. And we got the easy job of just handing the runners water. And since my checkpoint was the first one, we all got to go back to the hotel early. Muahaha!

Checkpoint duties

So when I got back, I went to help out some of the girls who were in charge of registration & certificate duty. Just helped them find certificates to pass to the runners who had already finished the run. I think the fastest time for one person to have run the whole thing was 3-5 minutes only. If only I could do that too. Btw, the whole race was 10-20 km long. Depending on which category you were in. Not bad, eh.

After everyone had completed the race, it was then time for the prize-giving ceremony. And the prizes.. man... they gave away so much money that I have to wonder if they actually managed to gain enough money for charity or did they lose out? Oh well, none of my concern. I was only there to help out so that the whole event ran smoothly.

CV! Family. Can you spot me? I'm the one in the picture with the sweetest smile. Haha!

After the event, we all went for our Appreciation Lunch which Dynasty Hotel had prepared for us as a way to say thank you for helping out. Heheh. Then met one of our Curtin Camp '05 mentees there! He was working there and he was so happy to see his mentors from the camp again. And it was great seeing him too. Man, I miss my mentees.. =( He was one of the kids who was in the monkey group during the camp.

After the lunch, everyone went back to their hotel rooms and crashed. Everyone went back to sleep again. Haha. Cos those who went clubbing didn't even get any sleep at all. The others either didn't get enough sleep or were just tired out from the day.

Zzzzzzz...
